church VBS and preschool VBS

church VBS and preschool VBS. last week, both our church and the church where we go to preschool held their VBSs, preschool's in the morning and church's at night, and yes, we had to come up with labels for our two VBSs to keep ourselves from getting confused about where we were going!

my friend jen (avery's mom) convinced me it would be fun for us to teach the girls' class this year (seventeen 4 and 5 year olds? what?), so the week before it started we got together to decorate our room with elements from the week's main street theme.

all of the wall decor we painted onto butcher paper using transparency projections, jen made the hanging signs (with the words of the day) with her cricut, and we added the butcher paper awning and flower box to the window. the night vbs started, we put a little table in front of the bistro, complete with table settings and menus, and baskets of fruits and veggies and a shopping cart in front of the grocery, which the kids loved playing with in our free moments!

faith was so excited to have her friends avery, miller and emmeline in her class! here they are listening to ms. jen teach our lesson for the night.

working on their crafts...

having fun at games (this was duck, duck, goose night!)

and at music! downtown dave (jen's hubs and our church's worship pastor) and the dancers/band rocked it this year!

and we wrapped up each night back in the sanctuary for skits, music, and to announce our nightly donations to the salvation army (each night we had a specific item to bring, and it was a contest between boys and girls to see who brought more!)

of course, i have a ton of pictures from our church's vbs because i was there and teaching faith's class, but here's one from preschool vbs of faith on the last day. :) it was nice that their theme was completely different from ours, and of course we had to get t-shirts for both!

all in all, it was an exhausting, exciting, super fun week of vbs for miss faithy! she was sad to see the week end :)

  1. OMG!! You guys did an AMAZING job with your classroom! I am so impressed!! Faith looks like she had a blast - so happy! The one picture of her (having fun at games) looks so much like you. Can't wait to see all of you in a couple of weeks!
