beating the heat

for the last few weeks, the land of the delta blues has officially been hot.

fry an egg on the sidewalk hot.

fry an egg on your forehead hot.

we've generally stayed inside, a/c running itself ragged to keep the house at 80*, which has made both faith and her mama a little stir crazy.

not that we've been driving each other nuts or that i've lowered myself to bickering with a 2.5 year old.

nope.

anyway. last week, the local aldi had some super fun sprinkler pools on sale for $10, so faith picked out the froggie and we set it up that evening! (because even at 6:00 pm, the sun was blazing and we had to use sunscreen.) she loved splashing around in the icy water, which felt fabulous in the heat, and has since requested to play in it every day.

which we haven't done because there's a little hole in it i need to repair. it came with a patch though. hey, for $10, what did you expect? :)
