spring break zoo day!

the weather here has been unseasonably, ridiculously, warm. i'm fairly certain we haven't had temps anywhere near freezing since december! having said that, our weekly schedule makes it a little hard to get to the zoo like we used to, so we took advantage of spring break, our sweet friends, and the weather and went today!

(for the record, it was 81. march 13, people. average high for march in memphis is 64.)

anyway, the zoo has added a few fun things since we last went at christmas, and we didn't do them all but we did go through the new dinosaurs exhibit!

the animatronic dinos were actually pretty neat, and faith thought it was fun to toss around words i'm sure she picked up from dino dan or something (brachiosaurus, compsognathus). she also really liked the one that spit water at her!

at the end of the exhibit, they have a little dig set up for the kiddos, so she got to put her paleontology skills to work :)

all in all, a lovely way to spend a day of our spring break!
