all you need is love...

the week before valentine's day was spent mostly at home, avoiding the perils of this:

i've lost track of how many snow days we've had this year, but i do know that we're way over our quota! luckily by friday the majority had melted and the world had returned to normal, and by the time valentine's day rolled around, we were rocking some major spring weather (sunny, high 60s/low 70s!). but while we were housebound, we went ahead and did faith's valentines for her preschool class.

her teachers had provided a handy list of everyone in the class, which she surprised me by reading entirely on her own! (i had to get a video later, just because i had no idea she could do that :)

she insisted on addressing and signing all of her valentines herself, which took a while, but she rocked it! somehow i didn't get a picture of them, but she did great. and they were mostly legible, double bonus!

we did our valentine's day celebrating on sunday with family dinner at chili's (which faith calls the pickled pepper) and a trip to the mall for a carousel ride and disney store visit. she picked out her valentine from the disney store (after *much* deliberation!) and settled on the rapunzel and belle rag doll plushes (buy one get one, woot!) rapunzel is her new favorite obsession, ever since she saw the movie a second time and realized it all turns out okay in the end :)

and lastly the little monster made me the sweetest valentine's day card ever while i was at work on monday, complete with flower, rainbow and self-portrait.

totally precious. love that girl!

happy valentine's day everyone!

  1. I was there for one of those snow days. I actually loved it though cause we don't get those in Florida. Your card from Faith was ADORABLE!! Sure you will cherish that one.:) She is so beautiful - just like her mama!! She continues to amaze me with her smartness.

  2. So little missy saw Tangled again and decided that she liked it? And we had to leave early when I took her because 'I don't like this movie'. LOL so now she wants all Rapunzel and Toy Story is so yesterday? Love her Valentine, sweetest thing ever.
what a brilliant child you have! How could she not be? Love you all
