braggy mama

while we were in florida for new year's, we went out to dinner with the extended family, and the girls entertained themselves by doodling on the paper placemats.

aleigh (turning 5 in march) was writing her name, and adison (10 in a few days) was writing various things, including the girls' names and the alphabet, while faith doodled her little doodles.

this is the placemat.

i happened to glance over right as faith started on something that looked very different from her normal happy face drawings and circular scribbles, and i was surprised by what she did.

do you see it?

the child wrote her name for the first time! i could hardly believe my eyes! granted, the A looks more like an H, but hey, angles are hard! she now writes her name on every piece of paper she can get her little hands on and thinks it's just the coolest thing to be able to write her name! pretty fun little thing she picked up over the holidays, if you ask me :)

  3. I saw her writing part of her name when you were here, but not the whole thing........smart girl! So glad you caught that milestone in her life. I still have a box of such milestones of you and your sisters, somewhere upstairs, just can't throw them out. She really isn't a baby at all anymore! ;)
